Mazza Gallerie Jazz Series - Update

Free Monthly Series of Live Jazz Continues, May through December

Washington, DC – Mazza Gallerie has introduced a series of free jazz concerts, scheduled on Saturdays of each month throughout the year, from 4 until 6 pm. The Mazza Gallerie Jazz Series continues through 2011 with one or two different bands each month at Mazza Gallerie, 5300 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC. The jazz performances take place on the mezzanine between Pampillonia Jewelers and Ann Taylor, and the sounds resound throughout the shopping center, providing a pleasant Saturday afternoon vibe for patrons.

Susan Jones Trio
Saturday, May 7
Uniquely led with Susan’s violin that swings in this acoustic jazz trio bringing diverse sounds with skillful improvisation.

Monica Worth Trio
Saturday, May 21
Vocalist Monica Worth brings her vibrant personality singing the music of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and others. With keyboard and string bass, the trio swings!

The Reed Man Trio
Saturday, June 4
Jazz stylings presented with saxophone, vocals, guitar and string bass.

Pete BarenBregge Trio
Saturday, July 2
Former musical director and lead tenor saxophonist of the U.S. Air Force Band’s Airmen of Note, Pete BarenBregge, presents his own jazz combo of saxophone, keyboard and bass, swinging with original arrangements and exquisite improvisation.

Emme St. James & Her Jazz Gentlemen
Saturday, August 6
Combining classical training with the influences of jazz greats, St. James uses her velvet voice to create the sophisticated atmosphere of yesterday’s cabarets.

Chris Vadala & Friends

A special addition to the series: Foremost woodwind artist, Chris Vadala, has had a long tenure as a standout with the Chuck Mangione Quartet, plus performances with such greats as Ella Fitzgerald, Quincy Jones, B.B.King, Natalie Cole, and Chick Corea.

Cindy Curillo Trio

This trio captivates with the “songs that you know by heart” with Cindy’s sultry voice in the lead.

Marty Nau Trio
Saturday, November 5
Former lead alto with the Navy ensemble, “The Commodores”, Nau dazzles with his mastery of the alto saxophone and clarinet. He has played with some jazz greats including Phil Woods, Dizzy Gillespie, Nancy Wilson, and Eddie Daniels.

Trio Caliente
Saturday, December 3
A soothing sound produced by beautiful arrangements and the trio’s unique combination of two guitars and female vocals.

Dan Reynolds Trio
Saturday, December 17
On keyboard, recording artist Dan Reynolds has performed with jazz luminaries such as Najee, Larry Coryell, Eddie Harris, and Ken Navarro. His trio will entertain with jazz and holiday classics – a special addition for the culmination of the Mazza Gallerie Jazz Series for 2011.
